Various contributing disciplines of organizational behaviour that helped in effective functioning of goal attainment in organizations 

It relates with the study of the individual’s behaviour, impact on the organizations and the effective functioning. Organizations has to focus on certain factors which will help in continuous growth of the organization.

1.    Continuous learning:-

 

·         It helps in the growth of the individuals as a whole. It has the major effect on the behaviour.

·         Learning can happen through any form which will lead to gain knowledge and understanding about particular things.

·         It can also bring the changes in the behaviour of the person and the way he/she look at things i.e. the perception of the individual.

·         For the effective functioning, the need of functional behaviours necessary.

·         It can lead to development of the organizations on the functional aspect as well as behaviour.

·         It also adds values to individual’s life and make a better person.

 

2.    Build the positive attitude:-

 

·         Attitude plays an important role in the growth of individual’s life.

·         it also helps in the evaluation of the individual likes, dislikes, issues they may face and the group they are working with.

·         The right attitude helps in forming the effective relations and values which are beneficial for the organizations.

·         It also helps in developing one’s personality.

 

3.    Creating the right perception:-

 

·         The behaviour of an individual depends upon his perception which they interpret according to the situation.

·         Individuals gather the information from its surrounding and try to perceive it accordingly.

·         It also helps organizations to create an environment where the workers and the co-workers can effectively take part in activities and help in understanding of the individual’s behaviour.

·         Perception depends on the way people see, react, transfer, sense and receipt the information asper their understanding.

·         it determines the certain characteristics of human such as the way of interaction, feelings, thoughts etc.

·         It is important for the organizations to group the people as per their potential and offer the particular role which suits the requirements from the individual or an employee.

The aspect of psychology, sociology is an important for understanding behaviour of individuals at workplace.

     i.            Psychology:-

 

·         It is the term which identifies, understands, explain the behaviour of an individual at workplace.

·         It also depends on the environment of the workplace, thinking, and a situation to which they react.

·         Managers has to understand that sometimes employees may get bored of the work a need a break. Manager should take into consideration about the same while evaluating the individuals.

·         The working conditions, hectic schedules, stress, anxiety etc can affect the performance.

·         Applying psychology strategy helps in solving the problems, increasing the employee’s satisfaction and attain the desirable goal.

·         It includes the personality of individual, emotions, perceptions, motivation and learning etc.

·         Various principles of psychology have to be implemented by the managers in the organizations.

 

  ii.            Social psychology:-

 

·         It is the area within which the psychology blends with the concepts from psychology and sociology to focus on the influence of the people on one another.

·         It consists of dealing with the behavioural, attitudes, identify the communication and to build trust.

·         It includes the societal aspect as well as psychology.

·         It influences the large social groups in the organization or the same domains.

·         It consists of the behavioural change, attitude at workplace, decision making on the basis of the group.

·         It also focuses on the employee behaviour in group and in person. An individual’s behaviour when he is with his friends and the behaviour when he is in the organization.

 

iii.            Sociology:-

 

·         It is the study of people in relation with their fellow human beings or their social environment.

·         It studies the behaviour of the groups at workplace.

·         It observes how a person behaves in a group, what tare the identities of the people working there.

·         It therefore includes the organizational culture, the technology, the change, communication between employees and the organizations etc.

 

iv.            Anthropology:-

 

·         It is the study of the societies to learn about activities of the human beings and the humans themselves.

·         It does the work of comparing the values, the comparative attitudes and the analysis of the cross-cultures.

·         It helps us in understanding the different culture, lifestyle, attitudes, values and behaviour of people in different organizations.

·         It also focuses on the environment of organizations.

In this way OB makes the managers and the individuals aware of the roles that are needed to be played by them and to motivate the employees at workplace to work more efficiently and effectively.



Organisational Behaviour (OB) always focuses on how to improve the wellbeing of the employees, the group and the organisation. Thus, OB always try to apply different models, theories and experiments which can be suitable to be applied to maintain that well-being or to generate it. It determines various factors through which it identifies how to manage things accordingly so that everyone feels safe and secured mentally and physically.

OB is overall study of a human behaviour and how can it be applied on the employees, so it’s crucial to make employee grow in their field along with the organisation. Well-being can be taken care with the continuous learning, if the person is growing as an individually and adding the learnings in his daily work setting we can say that the well-being if the employee is secured because on a daily basis he/she adding something valuable in their personal life.

Having the right perception is very important. Though everyone has an ability to create perception in their daily life, it means that how they look things according to their own thinking and interpret them according to their own understanding. OB shape up the right perception.

 

Various Disciplines contributing to the Organisational Behaviours (OB) –

ü  Psychology à it is the study of human behaviour which predicts the actions which might lead to some particular actions been done or made by them. It can measure and explain why the person is behaving in such a way and what can be done so that the behaviour can be deviated or moulded. In an organisation the behaviour like dissatisfaction, boredom and tiredness was used for the evaluation in the organisation but as the scenario has changed the organisation has seen a lot of things above that, not just boredom is seen as a behaviour but the employee emotions, personality, perception, leadership, training, motivation, job satisfaction, decision making, performance appraisal, attitude measurement, employee selection, work design, work stress, etc. is also being seen as the part of the human behaviour which can contribute in moulding the human behaviour. This focuses on individual level.

 

ü  Social Psychology àit is the mix of both sociology and psychology. Along with the individual behaviour its important how that individual behave in the social atmosphere. The thinking, mind process, influencing power, communication with one another in a group as an individual plays a crucial role. It measures the behaviour of an individual when he/she is in a group and how their behaviour and perception is in that scenario.

It contributes in behavioural change, attitude change, group process, group decision making. This focuses on a group level.

 

ü  Sociology à where psychology talks about the individual behaviour, in sociology it considers the behaviour of a group, culture and social environment. It is the study where the sociologist see that how can a group could possibly affect the organisation and how their culture and perspectives are different than the individuals. it is done mainly in the formal and informal meeting/gatherings, constitutes of power, politics and conflicts. It contributes in communication, power, conflict, intergroup behaviour, formal organisation group theory, organization technology, organizational change, organizational culture, etc.

 

ü  Anthropology à it is the study of societies to learn more about how humans behave and what are their activities in a society. What are the different cultures, tradition a person belongs and the way they can be shaped according to the organisation when it comes to work-setting. All the fundamentals values, ethics, attitudes are being measured with this study of society. This contributes in comparative values, comparative attitudes, cross-culture analysis, organisational culture, organisational environment, power.
